Work Experience
The Experience Factor is one of the six factors for which points are awarded by Canadian Immigration Officers in determining whether a Skilled Worker / Professional applicant will be accepted or refused. In fact, it is a most important criterion because, except in limited situations, zero points under the Experience Factor will mean an automatic refusal.
Up to 21 points are awarded under the Experience Factor based upon the number of years (maximum: four years) of experience. This work experience must be acquired in an eligible occupation.
Points are awarded on the following basis:
| Experience | Points |
|---|---|
| Four years or more | 21 points |
| Three years | 19 points |
| Two years or more | 17 points |
| One year | 15 points |
